How I built a $10K/month YouTube shorts channel using ONLY AI (full course)
Two Shorts channels built with free AI tools: one at 116K subscribers and 35M+ views, another at 202K and 23M+, both monetized, one pulling $10K+ a month. Not with lazy AI hacks, which don’t survive YouTube’s policies, but by using AI the smart way.
The key: retention
Retention is how long people keep watching, and YouTube pushes videos that hold viewers. The fix is a real storyline: beginning, middle and end, with the payoff revealed at the end like a movie. AI can help, but only with the right prompt, not “write me a viral script.”
Step 1: Story ideas
Use my story-ideas prompt (from the doc). Set how many ideas you want and, optionally, an animal. I picked Wolf of the Bone Forest.
Step 2: Scene prompts before the script
Before writing the script, get image and video prompts per scene (I used five). That’s what guides the visuals and makes the Short engaging.
Step 3: Images and video in one place
I used an all-in-one generator (Nim) that bundles several image and video models, to avoid five open tabs. Images: GPT Image, 9:16, quality high. Then image-to-video with each scene’s video prompt, using Kling 2.0 for smooth, cinematic motion. Separate tools work fine too.
Step 4: A script that hooks
Viewers’ attention is like a phone at 1%. My script prompt makes ChatGPT write something human, emotional and engaging that matches the visuals, works for kids and adults, and follows a proper arc. Paste your title and generate.
Step 5: Voice
Clean up the script in a doc (remove emojis), then in DupDub → AI voiceover → More voices → Audiobook, choose English, male, adult, quality Ultra, and drop the pitch to −1 or −2 for a deeper storyteller tone.
Step 6: Custom music, no copyright issues
Ask ChatGPT to describe a background track for your story in under 180 characters. Paste it into TopMediAI → Prompt to music (model 4.5), and you get a unique track.
Step 7: Edit
CapCut, or Pippit for free with no export limits, no watermark and free auto captions:
- Voiceover first, and cut silent gaps.
- Numbered clips in order, with speed adjusted to fit.
- A clean transition between clips.
- Auto captions with a template.
- Music low, SFX where they fit (Pixabay free, or Epidemic Sound).
- Export at 1080p, 60 fps.
