Start here: zero to a monetized faceless channel
The whole path I teach on the channel, in order: rules, niche, a channel to model, your first videos, packaging, and getting paid.
I’ve broken down and cloned a lot of faceless channels on my channel. The ones that win aren’t magic. They work because of structure, psychology and repeatable systems. This page puts everything I teach in the order you actually need it. Tick each stage off as you go; your progress is saved in this browser.
One rule before anything else: lazy AI hacks don’t survive YouTube’s policies. Use AI the smart way: your own script, your own voice, a real story in every video. Read monetization & staying safe before you upload video one.
Stage 1: Learn the rules of the game
You can’t get paid until you’re in the YouTube Partner Program, and you won’t stay in it if your channel looks mass-produced.
- I know the YPP thresholds (subscribers + watch hours or Shorts views)
- I’ve read the inauthentic and reused content policies
- I know when to tick the “AI use” disclosure on upload
Everything is summarised, with links to YouTube’s own pages, in Monetization & staying safe.
Stage 2: Pick one lane
Every winning channel I’ve shown picks one topic and sticks to it. Stick figures about prehistoric life. Food history. Hidden stories behind paintings. Don’t mix five niches on one channel.
Look for the signal I always look for: low subscribers with high views. A channel with under 4K subscribers and a 400K-view video means the algorithm is pushing that topic, not the channel’s authority.
- I picked one niche from the niche finder
- I found 2–3 channels in that niche that are new and growing fast
Stage 3: Model a channel (copy the formula, not the content)
Like a chef who learns the recipe and cooks their own dish. You study why a channel works (titles, thumbnails, hooks, script format, pacing), then make something new with it. My full method is in Channel modeling.
- I picked a new channel to model (its topics carried it, not years of authority)
- I wrote down its title pattern, hook style, video length and image cadence
- I have 10 ideas it hasn’t made yet
Stage 4: Brand the channel
In my videos I let the AI do this in minutes: five channel name ideas, four logo options, a short channel description. Then create the channel and upload the logo and description. Name taken? Add a prefix.
- Name, logo, banner and description are done
- My main character (if the format has one) is locked, because it becomes the face of the channel
Stage 5: Make your first videos
This is the loop from every tutorial on this site:
- Script. Ask for a rewrite that’s conversational, relatable and a bit funny. Viewers decide in about 10 seconds.
- Voice. Don’t use the default voices thousands of channels already use. Design your own voice or clone yours.
- Visuals. Change the image every 2.5–4 seconds. Slower is cheaper, but retention drops.
- Edit. Voiceover first, cut dead air, put each visual exactly where the narrator mentions it, add captions and quiet music under the voice.
All the details are in the hooks & retention playbook.
- Video 1 is published
- Video 3 is published
- Video 10 is published
Stage 6: Package every video
Your thumbnail does more work than the video. The best animation in the world gets no views if nobody stops scrolling.
- Every title uses a proven formula (try the title generator)
- I test every thumbnail next to a competitor’s before publishing
- I run the pre-upload checklist before every upload
See Titles & thumbnails.
Stage 7: Stay consistent and go long
Consistency is what leads to growth and monetization. And length matters: if the channel you’re modeling averages 8–13 minutes, go 15–20 minutes. Longer watch time gets pushed to more people, and longer videos have more ad slots.
You don’t need original ideas at first. You need one video to take off, so go after proven topics.
- I post on a fixed schedule I can actually keep
- I check which video is outperforming and make more like it
Stage 8: Get paid, then go beyond AdSense
When you hit the thresholds, apply for YPP. But don’t wait for AdSense to start earning: digital products, print-on-demand and affiliate links work from your first views. See Income beyond AdSense, and use the RPM calculator to see what your niche could pay.
- I applied to the YouTube Partner Program
- I set up one income stream that doesn’t depend on ads
