I Made a 3D Documentary in 5 Minutes With GPT-6 Astra

GPT-6 AstraHiggsfieldExplainer

Channels like Vox pack every video with motion graphics, maps, charts and transitions, which normally takes serious motion-design skill. The explainer at the start of this video (why cities stay warm after sunset) took me under five minutes, with no motion graphics or editing skills.

Step 1: Connect GPT-6 Astra to Higgsfield

GPT-6 Astra is the brain; Higgsfield (50% off) handles visuals, voiceover and video. On Higgsfield go to MCP, select ChatGPT, click Add Higgsfield plugin, then Install plugin in ChatGPT.

Step 2: Paste the master prompt

Open the master prompt (link above, also in the free Vault), copy all of it, make sure the Higgsfield plugin is enabled in ChatGPT, paste and send. It automates everything from choosing the idea to generating the finished video.

Step 3: Pick the idea you’d actually click

GPT offers 10 editorial motion-graphics documentary ideas. This is where most people rush. Don’t pick the coolest-sounding one; pick the one you’d click if it showed up in your feed. Read the titles out loud.

I chose Why cities stay warmer at night. It’s something everyone has felt without knowing why, and that gap between noticing and understanding is exactly what makes people watch.

Step 4: Format and quality

Choose long-form or short-form, the duration (I used 30 seconds) and quality: up to 1080p, but 720p works fine and saves credits.

Step 5: Let it generate

GPT selects the model, aspect ratio and duration and sends everything to Higgsfield. A few minutes later you have motion graphics, transitions and sound effects in a professional editorial style, with no animation built by hand.

Step 6: Quick final edit

In CapCut:

  • Trim any long pauses.
  • Add captions. Most people scroll with the sound off, so captions do the talking in the first seconds.
  • Add quiet background music and export.

Same workflow, other topics I made: how undersea internet cables work and how drip irrigation saves water.
