This Faceless Art Channel Made $75K in 90 Days (FULL GUIDE)
An art channel passed 500,000 subscribers in 90 days, pulled 80M+ views and made well over $75,000, plus an estimated $32,000/month from a second income stream. The niche: old historical paintings and their hidden stories, dark secrets and symbolism. Almost nobody on YouTube does it seriously.
Why it’s a gold mine
- High RPM, up to about $20, because the audience is older, educated and US-based.
- Evergreen: videos from a year ago still get hundreds of views an hour, and they’ll be just as relevant in 2035.
- Competition gap: it looks boring, so supply is low and demand is high.
- Simple format: faceless, 8–11 minutes, a painting on screen, slow zooms and an AI voiceover.
The hidden formula
A random painting and a ChatGPT script flops. The winners pick paintings with real psychological weight (forbidden, dangerous, misunderstood, sometimes once censored) and use an addictive story arc.
Step 1: Name and logo
Use the prompts in my free PDF: ChatGPT gives name options (I liked Mind Canvas), then a logo prompt you generate in Pippit at 1:1.
Step 2: Find the painting
- Manual: Wikimedia Commons, museum archives, Google Arts & Culture (search symbolism in art).
- AI: my painting-finder prompt in ChatGPT, by period (Renaissance, Baroque, Dutch Golden Age).
Look each one up and pick the creepiest, most visually unsettling, because your whole video is one image. I chose the Arnolfini Portrait by Jan van Eyck. Then upscale it in Pippit (Image Studio → Image upscaler), because quality is everything here.
Step 3: Titles
They never name the painting. They use emotion:
- Mystery: “No one can explain this painting”
- Shock: “This painting is actually terrifying”
Fill the painting and artist into my title prompt.
Step 4: Analysis, then script
In Claude, upload the painting with my analysis prompt (composition, the artist’s life, hidden details). Then the script prompt builds the arc: hook → big mystery → backstory → deep dive → bigger picture → payoff → wrap-up (ask for comments). Add supporting images (the artist, other works) where the script moves on.
Step 5: Voice
Use a quality library voice in ElevenLabs, or better, a custom voice so you’re recognizable.
Step 6: Edit
In CapCut:
- Trim excessive pauses only, since some pauses build tension.
- Keyframe zooms to each detail as it’s mentioned, with a smooth easing preset.
- Highlighter stickers pointing at details, text for the title, year and artist, and a Glow effect.
- Dark, suspenseful music. I generate custom tracks free with Freebeat AI from a Claude-written description, set to instrumental.
The $32K/month strategy
At the end of each video, when the emotional connection peaks, they pitch: “If you’d like this painting in your home…” The link goes to phone cases (about $42), prints and canvases (up to $199) using public-domain images. At just 0.1% conversion, that’s about $33K a month.
Build it free: make mockups in Canva (Elements → Mockups → iPhone case), open a free Redbubble store, and put the link in every description.
