How I Make Evergreen Whiteboard Animation Videos Using ONLY AI

Simple drawings on a white background with a narrator explaining step by step doesn’t sound like much, but whiteboard videos pull millions of views and they’re evergreen. The Art of Improvement (1.1M+ subscribers) has uploads at 4.8M, 3.4M and 2.9M views, and a five-year-old video still gets 100+ views every hour (check the VPH metric in vidIQ). They look hard to make. With AI they’re not.

Step 1: Pick an idea

Paste the idea prompt from my free master prompt doc into ChatGPT (or free Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek). Ask for more if nothing clicks, or bring your own topic. I chose The rise and fall of the largest empires in human history.

Step 2: Script and storyboard

Paste the Video script & storyboard generator prompt into ChatGPT, replacing your video idea here with your topic. You get a full whiteboard framework: scene-by-scene prompts and the narration flow.

Step 3: Fix the drawing hand

AI whiteboard videos often give themselves away with a distorted hand or unrealistic drawing motion. Run the Hand correction prompt, pasting your storyboard where it says your script here. On free ChatGPT, do a few scenes at a time (I did 10). It rewrites each scene so the hand looks natural and is connected to the drawing.

Step 4: Generate the scenes

I tested many video generators. Most gave stiff, artificial motion that breaks the whiteboard illusion. Higgsfield (50% off) with Seedance 2.0 gave the best results.

  • Paste scene 1’s prompt.
  • Match the duration from ChatGPT (e.g. 8 s), use 16:9 and 4K.
  • Generate, check the hand follows the drawing, download, and repeat.

Step 5: Voiceover

Ask ChatGPT: “Give me ready-to-copy voiceover text for all the following scenes,” and paste the script. Too stiff? Ask for a more casual version. Generate it in ElevenLabs with a pre-made or custom voice.

Step 6: Edit

In CapCut:

  1. The voiceover is the backbone. Keep short pauses (they help pacing) and cut long silences.
  2. Add scenes in order and fine-tune so each visual appears exactly when it’s mentioned. That’s the biggest difference between amateur and pro.
  3. Optional captions, then export.
