How to Recreate Any Viral Edit With AI (Claude + Katana)
Fast, cinematic movie edits are everywhere on Shorts, Reels and TikTok, and some single clips pull tens of millions of views. Until now, every one of them was made by hand: After Effects, keyframes, speed ramps, color grading, and hours of work for 30 seconds. Katana, a model from Higgsfield (50% off) that runs inside Claude, changes that. You give it a reference edit and one image, and it rebuilds the whole edit in the same style with your character in every frame.
Step 1: Connect Higgsfield to Claude
- Go to Higgsfield (link above) and open the Katana model. You’ll see a dashboard of community presets: the edit styles you see every day on Instagram, TikTok and Shorts.
- Katana runs inside Claude. If Higgsfield isn’t connected yet, click Install Higgsfield, then Continue on the connection page.
- In Claude, click + → Connectors and check that Higgsfield is listed.
Step 2: Launch Katana and pick a preset
Type /katana in a Claude chat and press Enter. A visual gallery of presets opens. Pick one and click Recreate to see a detailed preview of the finished edit.
Step 3: Add your character
Upload your character image (I use my avatar). One important rule:
If the clip has more than one character, upload all of them. Otherwise the AI uses the same character for everyone.
You can also add a prompt with extra instructions. For the first test, leave it empty to see how closely Katana copies the original.
Step 4: Generate
Click Generate. Katana turns your request into a plain-text instruction, so press Enter to submit. Higgsfield then splits the edit into dozens of individual shots, exactly how a professional editor works, and assembles the final clip. It keeps almost every small editing detail from the reference and only swaps the character.
Going further: busy edits with text and camera moves
For edits packed with captions, moving text and constant camera moves, one sentence of prompt is enough:
Replace the guy in the video with my image and keep everything else the same.
No reference? Create from scratch
Katana isn’t limited to presets. Start a fresh chat, type /katana, then describe the edit directly. For example:
Silent film gentleman in a bowler hat, dark aura edit.
With no reference and no image, Katana picked the actor, the shots, the music and the sound effects itself. Add format, duration, quality or extra rules when you want more control. More detail gives better results.
Ideas to try
- Car edits, anime edits, movie edits and outfit edits
- Aura edits built from a single sentence
- Your own channel character dropped into trending edit styles
